How to stop Facebook notifications on Yahoo mail

Facebook notifications can become very inconveniencing. If every time someone changes a profile pic or likes your post, you receive an email, your inbox can easily fill up. This can prevent you from noticing more important emails. Having to delete all those emails is quite annoying. The best option is to stop the notifications altogether.

Fortunately, stopping Facebook notifications is quite straightforward. You can do it in four simple steps. Therefore, if you have been wondering how to stop Facebook notifications on Yahoo mail, here is how to go about it.

Step 1: Log Into Your Facebook Account

To stop Facebook notifications, you simply have to tell Facebook to stop sending the notifications. You do this by changing a few settings on your Facebook account. Therefore, the first step is to log into your Facebook account.

Step 2: Go To The Facebook Settings Page

One you’ve logged into your account, you need to go to the Settings Page. Finding the Settings Page is quite easy.

First of all, locate the Facebook Menu (the blue line at the top of the page which contains Home, Find Friends etc). Now, the furthest item to the right on the menu is a small triangle. It is tiny, but you can’t miss it. It is the first item on the right.

Click on the small triangle. A drop down menu will appear. That drop down menu has items like “Create Page”, “Create Adverts”, “Logout”, etc. One of the items is “Settings”. Click on that, and you will be redirected to the Facebook Settings Page.

Step 3: Open The Notifications Settings

On the extreme left of the Settings Page, you will see a number of settings options. Among the options you will see are “General”, “Security”, “Privacy”, and many others.

One of the settings options is called “Notifications”. These are the settings which you need to change in order to stop notifications on your Yahoo Mail.

So, click on “Notifications”. This will display “Notification Settings”.

Step 4: Change The Email Notification Settings

The Notification Settings are divided into two parts: How You Get Notifications, and What You Get Notified about.

Since your intention is to stop Yahoo Mail notifications, you need to change the email settings. To access the email settings, simply locate the email option under “How to Get Notifications”. The email option is the second item.

To the extreme right of the email icon, there is a word “Edit”. Click on Edit. A box will open which has the words “You’ll receive:” followed by three radio buttons:

-All notifications, except the ones you unsubscribe from

-All Important notifications about you or your activity you’ve missed

-Only notifications about your account, security and privacy

To reduce unnecessary notifications, select the third option. Simply check the radio button, and click close. This step alone will greatly reduce the number of notifications you receive on your Yahoo Mail. You will only receive important account notifications on Facebook.

If, however, your desire is to stop all notifications, then turn to the second part of the Notification Settings Page i.e. What You Get Notified About. This is where you choose what you should get notified about.

It contains a number of options like “Close Friends Activity”, “Birthdays”, “Your Friends’ Life Events” and so on. Each of these options has the word “Edit” at the extreme right. You can turn off the notifications for each by clicking Edit, and selecting “Off”.

To turn off all notifications, simply move from item to item, clicking “Edit” and selecting “Off”. Once all items are labeled “Off”, you have successfully turned off all email notifications. You will not receive those Facebook notifications again (unless you change the settings).

In a nutshell, that is how to stop Facebook notifications on Yahoo mail. The process works for any other email account. Therefore, if you have been vexed by endless Facebook notifications, you now know how to stop them. Simply follow the four simple steps listed above, and you can enjoy a fantastic Facebook experience without having to worry about annoying notifications.
